Seaside Casual Furniture Values Integrity

Built on 100 years and 5 generations of family tradition Seaside Casual Furniture is a company that values integrity. Founded in 1911 by Carold D “Kit” Arnold, he and his son operated the business with unwavering work ethic that carries on today.

Their furniture is made from Envirowood a 100% recycled HDPE lumber (the same material as milk jugs) that is permeated with solid pigment throughout and has UV protection added. It will not rot, splinter or absorb moisture and requires no staining.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is one of the most common plastics used in everyday products. Most consumers are unknowingly exposed to HDPE on a daily basis through their water bottles, milk jugs, and plastic bags. It is also found in lawn and garden products, containers for food and beverages, buckets, crates, and office supplies. In addition, HDPE is utilized in manufacturing plastic lumber and furniture.

Due to its durability, chemical resistance and flexibility, HDPE is an excellent material to utilize for industrial purposes. It is able to withstand pressure and harsh scenarios that many other materials cannot. HDPE is also nontoxic and food-grade, making it an ideal option for environments regulated by strict sanitary standards. It does not absorb moisture and is able to be welded for easier assembly.

With a unique molecular structure, HDPE has little branching that allows for stronger intermolecular forces. This makes it stronger than low-density polyethylene and enables it to hold more weight. In turn, this results in greater tensile strength and impact resistance.

Another advantage of HDPE is its ability to resist corrosion and abrasions, making it suitable for marine applications. It is also able to withstand cold temperatures, meaning that it can be utilized in a variety of climates and situations.

Seaside Casual is proud to offer a line of 100% recyclable HDPE furnishings. This material is perfect for beach homes or coastal areas as it will not splinter or rot and has added UV inhibitors that help to resist fading. It is easily machinable with essential woodworking tools and requires minimal maintenance as it does not require staining or sealing. It is resistant to most corrosive substances and does not promote bacterial growth.

EnviroWood(r)

Seaside Casual furniture is handcrafted to endure the corrosive seaside air, a New England winter, or an Arizona heat wave. Their collections feature Adirondack chairs and ottomans, dining tables, bar stools, lifeguard chairs, and deep seating options. They’re available in a range of frame finish and upholstery color options, so you can create the perfect look for your commercial outdoor space.

Ready to assemble, Envirowood(r) is made from recycled HDPE polymer — the same material found in milk jugs. This all-weather marine grade lumber is impregnated with UV stabilized coloring, and will not splinter or absorb moisture. It looks like painted wood, but requires only minimal maintenance – it can be washed with soap and water.

Seaside’s aesthetic blends classic and modern elements for pieces that have a timeless feel and will last through many seasons. Choose from a variety of collection, including the popular Coastline collection. For custom orders, including colors and logo embroidered cushions, please contact us for a quote. Our team will be happy to assist you. We can handle projects of any size, from a single piece for your home to dozens of pieces for an entire resort.

Structural Aluminum

Aluminum is highly durable, resisting rust and corrosion in many environments. It is also resistant to fading from sunlight exposure, and it requires minimal maintenance and cleaning. It is also a great choice for large building projects because it does not crack or splinter like wood. Aluminum is also air-tight and can help save energy costs in heating and cooling.

The material is naturally anti-microbial, and it is easy to clean with a mild cleaner. Additionally, it is a more sustainable choice than steel because it uses less energy to produce. Also, unlike steel, aluminum can be recycled endlessly without losing its strength properties.

Structural aluminum is often used to manufacture commercial buildings, automotive, engineering and construction equipment, machine bases, building structural framing and cryogenic vessels. It is a highly versatile metal and is often welded to form complex shapes. It is commonly selected for renovations of existing structures to increase energy-efficiency and sustainability ratings.

For larger construction projects, Seaside Casual Furniture uses 6061 aluminum in their dining chairs and tables, Adirondack chair and chaise lounge sets, and deep seating arrangements. This higher grade of aluminum has a higher yield strength than 3003 aluminum, making it stronger and more resistant to stress and bending.

In addition to its impressive strength, 6061 aluminum is easily worked by hand, allowing architects and engineers more flexibility to create complex structures. It can also be cold-formed, which allows it to bend into the desired shape. Other processes such as age hardening (heating and then quenching it in water) improve its tensile strength and yield strength. This makes it a more efficient option for large, heavy structures that need to be able to withstand a lot of pressure.

Stainless Steel Fasteners

When it comes to fasteners, stainless steel stands above the rest in terms of durability and resistance. Whether it’s for industrial projects or everyday household use, stainless steel has become the most popular choice across all industries. It’s highly corrosive resistant and can be found in various alloys depending on your needs. This is why it’s a popular material for many applications, especially in harsh environments.

Stainless steel fasteners are not only rust-resistant, but they also resist corrosion in high alkaline and humid conditions. They are also resistant to chemicals and can withstand higher temperatures. The type of stainless steel you need depends on your project’s requirements, but 304 stainless is the most popular alloy used for commercial and residential projects.

While all stainless steel fasteners are corrosion-resistant, there are different grades that offer different benefits to your project. For instance, 316 stainless steel fasteners are more resistant to corrosion and oxidation than other types of stainless steel. This is because 316 stainless steel has a higher level of chromium.

There are two main processes used to make stainless steel fasteners: cold heading (cold forming) and machining. The former involves using a machine to cut, shape and remove material from the fastener to produce a finished product. The latter is used for larger production runs. Generally, machining is more expensive than cold heading. However, it produces a faster and more accurate product than cold forming.

Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant, and its ability to withstand extreme weather conditions makes it a popular option for outdoor furniture. This is because a thin layer of chromium oxide forms on the surface of the fastener, which uses oxidation as a defense mechanism against oxygen and other corrosion-causing chemical reactions. This is why it’s also often used in marine environments.

Warranty

Seaside Casual furniture is backed by a 20 year residential and 5 year commercial warranty, against original defects in material and workmanship. It does not rot, splinter or absorb moisture, and is resistant to mold, mildew and fungus, and the patented EnviroWood polymer withstands corrosive salt air and is impervious to rust and abrasion. It is colorfast and will not fade, requiring no staining or painting. Marine grade stainless steel fasteners are used to assemble all pieces. The only maintenance required is regular cleaning with soap and water. Seaside Casual furniture is made with recycled plastics and is a green alternative to wood. Millions of landfill and ocean-bound plastic milk jugs are recycled each year to make this high performance polymer. It is a durable, cost-effective choice for coastal living.
